1 File Format and Structure

2 Title Page (Separate File — Not Blinded)
The title page must be submitted as a separate file and must include:

Full title (concise, ≤ 15 words; avoid abbreviations)

Short running title (≤ 6 words)

Full names of all authors with highest academic qualifications

Designation and full institutional affiliation of each author
-
Name, address, email, phone, and ORCID iD of the corresponding author

ORCID iD for all authors (mandatory for corresponding author, encouraged for co-authors)

Word count (excluding abstract, references, tables, figures)

Number of figures and tables

Funding statement

3 Abstract
The abstract must not exceed 250 words and must be structured as follows:

For Review Articles, use a brief structured abstract (Background, Methods, Findings, Conclusions). Abbreviations should be defined at first use within the abstract.
4 Keywords
Provide 5–8 MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) terms from the NLM MeSH browser (meshb.nlm.nih.gov). Avoid repeating words from the title. Keywords should reflect the study's disease condition, study design, study population, and intervention/exposure.
5 Figures, Images and Artwork

Submit figures as separate files with logical naming (Figure_1.tif, Figure_2.jpg, etc.)
-
Minimum resolution: 300 dpi for photographs/halftones; 600 dpi for line drawings
-
Preferred formats: TIFF, EPS, or high-resolution JPEG/PNG
-
All clinical photographs and patient images must have identifiable features obscured AND written consent obtained
-
Histopathology images must include scale bar and magnification in the legend
-
Radiological images (CT, MRI, X-ray) must be anonymised (no DICOM patient data visible)
-
Figure legends should be compiled in the main manuscript file, not embedded within figures
6 Tables
-
Tables must be created in Microsoft Word (not as images)
-
Each table on a separate page, numbered consecutively as Table 1, Table 2, etc.
-
Title above the table; footnotes below (use *, †, ‡, § for symbols)
-
All abbreviations in the table must be expanded in the footnote
-
Data in tables must not duplicate data described in the text
7 Supplementary Material
Supplementary files (additional data, questionnaire instruments, consent form templates, reporting checklists, CTRI registration documents, IEC approval letters) must be labelled Supplementary File S1, S2, etc. and cited within the main text.
